Day 7: December 31 ... the great and mighty Alhambra

As a Christmas gift to both us, Fred had arranged for us to join a group tour of the Alhambra Palace and Gardens.  These tickets, at such a late date, were not easy to come by, especially around the holidays when local and foreign tourists descend upon Granada.  Words truly cannot describe the splendour and mystery of this place.

We awakened early and relied on Fred's internal compass to guide us from the hotel through the maze of ascending streets and alleyways to the Alhambra Visitor Center where we joined our group at 9:30.  Our tour lasted over 3 hours.
