The New Cathedral was constructed without the subsequent destruction of the Old Cathedral, as was normally the case. A wall of the New Cathedral, leans on the north wall of the old one.

The Old Cathedral was founded in the 12th century and completed in Romanesque/Gothic style in the 14th century. I found the Old Cathedral infinitely more interesting in its simplicity compared to the New Cathedral.
