Day 15: January 8 ... on my way to Salamanca

Once again I have to say how impressed I am with the transportation network in Spain.  In 15 days, not one disruption, not one inconvience.  Trains and buses travel on schedule.  All train and bus stations in Madrid are interconnected via local commuter trains or the Madrid Metro.  Clean, safe, economical and efficient.  Spain's transportation network gets my highest marks.

Now, on to Salamanca from Madrid's train station (Chamartín) that serves northern Spanish destinations.  The trip west from Madrid to Salamanca took approximately 2.5 hours through rough hilly terrain to pastoral landscapes and finally to flat fields covered in fog and frost.
