Day 2: December 26 ... Puerta del Sol and a teen with a soccer ball
My last stop in central Madrid during the late afternoon was the Puerta del Sol (Gate of the Sun), one of the best known and busiest places in Madrid. This is the centre (Km 0) of the radial network of Spanish roads. The square also contains the famous clock whose bells mark the traditional eating of the Twelve Grapes and the beginning of a new year. There is much more to explore here, and I will return over the coming days.
